This policy explains what TrulyWisely collects, why, who it is shared with, and how to get rid of it. TrulyWisely is operated by Keyakash Technologies, Rainmakers Coworking Space, JP Nagar 3rd Phase, Bangalore, Karnataka 560078, India.
Who can use TrulyWisely
TrulyWisely is for adults aged 18 and over only. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to a minor, we delete it and its data.
What we collect
You give us
- Email address — to sign you in. Sign-in uses a one-time code; we never store a password.
- Profile details — name, date of birth, gender, city, community and mother tongue, education, profession, income band, family background, lifestyle, interests, and what you're looking for.
- Photos — your profile photos and one reference photo.
- Birth details — date, time and place of birth, if you choose horoscope matching. These are used only to compute your chart.
- Messages you send to your matches.
- Reports you file about other users.
Created during verification
Facial data. Your liveness selfie is compared against your reference photo to confirm you are the same person. This comparison produces a similarity score. We keep the images and the score; we do not sell, license or share facial data, and it is never shown to other users. Delete your account and it goes with it.
Collected automatically
- Device notification token — so we can tell you about matches and messages. Removed when you sign out.
- Basic activity — likes, passes, matches and read receipts, which are what make the product work.
What we do NOT collect
- Precise location. Your profile stores the city you pick and that city's public map coordinates — never your GPS position. If you tap "use my current location", the app asks for approximate location permission (accurate to a couple of kilometres), uses it once to work out your city, and discards the reading. The permission is optional; you can always type your city instead.
- Payment details. Card numbers, UPI PINs and bank credentials go to Razorpay directly and never reach our servers.
- Your contacts, calendar, or files.
- Aadhaar or other government ID.
- Website tracking. This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics.
Why we use it
| Purpose | Data used |
|---|---|
| Signing you in | |
| Confirming you are real | Reference photo, liveness selfie |
| Finding compatible matches | Profile details, preferences, birth chart |
| Messaging | Messages, notification token |
| Safety and moderation | Reports, blocks, photos |
| Billing | Email, subscription status |
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We do not share it for advertising. It is processed by these service providers so the app can function:
| Provider | What they handle |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, authentication, photo storage |
| Amazon Web Services | Face comparison during verification |
| Google (Firebase) | Push notification delivery |
| Razorpay | Payments and subscriptions |
| Resend | Sign-in code emails |
We also disclose data where the law requires it, or to investigate a safety report.
What other users see
Your first name and last initial, age, city, photos, bio, and the profile details you filled in. They do not see your email, your exact date or time of birth, your reference photo, your liveness selfie, or your full name.
How long we keep it
- While your account is active — for as long as you use TrulyWisely.
- When you delete your account — profile, photos, messages, matches and facial data are deleted. See delete your account.
- Retained after deletion — records we are legally required to keep, such as payment records for tax purposes, and a minimal record of accounts removed for serious safety violations so they cannot immediately return.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:
- Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is processed;
- Correct or complete data that is inaccurate — editable directly in the app;
- Erase your data — see delete your account;
- Withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it. Withdrawing consent for verification data means closing your account, because we cannot show an unverified profile;
- Nominate a person to exercise these rights for you if you are unable to;
- Grievance redressal — first with our Grievance Officer below; if unresolved, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Most of this is available in the app; for anything else write to privacy@trulywisely.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Photos are held in private storage and served only through short-lived signed links. Access controls are enforced at the database level, so one user cannot read another's data even if the app were modified.
No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board as required.
Changes
If we change this policy materially, we will notify you in the app before the change takes effect.
