What we actually do about safety.
Claims are cheap on dating apps. Here is specifically what is enforced, and what isn't.
Verification
Before a profile can be seen by anyone, the person must record a live selfie with a blink challenge, which is matched against the reference photo they uploaded. Every photo added later is matched against that same reference. A profile cannot quietly become a different person.
Borderline matches go to human review rather than being auto-approved. A profile awaiting review is not shown to other users and does not carry the verified badge.
Blocking
Blocking is enforced on our servers, not just hidden on your phone. A blocked person cannot see your profile, cannot message you, and the conversation is closed for both sides. They are not told that you blocked them.
Reporting
Reports go to a moderation queue reviewed by a person. You can report from a profile or from a conversation, and you don't have to have matched with someone to report them.
Your data
- Photos are stored privately. They are not on a public URL, and they are served through short-lived signed links.
- Your reference photo and your liveness selfie are visible only to you and to our verification system — never to other users.
- Deleting your account deletes your photos, messages and profile. See delete your account.
What we don't claim
Verification confirms that the person in the photos is the person using the account. It is not a background check, a criminal record check, or an identity-document check. It does not make someone safe to meet.
Meet in public the first few times, tell someone where you're going, and arrange your own transport. Nothing in an app replaces that.
Reporting something urgent
If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services (dial 112 in India) first. For anything involving a minor, coercion or threats, write to grievance@trulywisely.com and mark it URGENT — these are prioritised ahead of the normal queue.
